2022-09-03 - Toast

Day #0030 (Sat., Sep. 3, 2022) – Total Down: 5.50 lbs.!

2022-09-03 - Weigh InThis morning the scale told me that I am 344.4 lbs. This means that I lost 0.7 lbs. since yesterday and am down 5.50 lbs. overall. Definitely moving in the right direction.

2022-09-03 - Potato SaladI thought I would start today off away from my normal breakfast routine and have a nice potato salad with some lite mayo (see photo to the right).  These little potatoes I get from Aldi are clean, organic, and are so easy to bake and cut and are great for a potato salad like this.

2022-09-03 - ToastI followed this up with a couple of slices of 45-calorie toast and fruit spread (see photo to the left), and washed it down with a large mug of coffee with some oat milk.  Toast and coffee is such a special combo in the morning.

2022-09-03 - ChipsFinishing off my morning eating routine with a bit of “crunch”, I had a bag of potato chips (see photo to the right).

When lunch time rolled around I settled on soup!  As you know I’m into soup for lunch these days and had some tomato soup with some cut up potatoes in it (see photo to the left).  2022-09-03 - Tomato SoupAbout 15 little wheat thin crackers rounded with hummus were the accompaniment. I didn’t measure the hummus out and am afraid that I might have overeaten it.  Unlike my homemade hummus I picked this up from Aldi and it has some oil…  Hopefully the scale won’t punish me tomorrow for this!

2022-09-03 - Count ChocoluaTime for some sweets!  A cup of Count Chocula was nice addition to my lunch (see photo to the right).  The kids didn’t properly seal the bag, so they were not as crunchy as they should be.  No matter, I washed them down with some Coke Zero.

For dinner this evening I had a nice ham and cheese sandwich on a couple of low calorie slices of bread.  Add some hummus (from Aldi), lettuce, a slice of cheese, deli ham, and some tomato and you are good to go!  2022-09-03 - Ham & CheeseQuite the combo and very delish!  You can see it all in the photo to the left.

2022-09-03 - Cabbage SaladStill hungry I thought I would have a combo cabbage and potato salad (see photo to the right).  I actually think that I like cabbage better than lettuce due to the crunch factor, but you need to add a nice dressing or the rather sourness of the cabbage can come through.  I therefore had this “Big Mac” dressing I make from the combo “lite mayo, ketchup, and relish”.  Top off with your favorite spices and you’re good to go!

2022-09-03 - Cherry CobblerFor my evening dessert I had a real special treat, cherry oatmeal “cobbler” (see photo to the left), or at least this is what I call it.  Sorry the photo is blurry…I guess that I was in such a hurry to try it out that I didn’t keep the camera steady enough.

So how did I come up with the idea for this dessert?  Well, I was trying to think of what I could bake that would be simple and would satisfy my cravings for a sweet baked item.  Well, you can’t get much simpler than oatmeal and cherry pie filling, which is all that this dessert calls for.  I even found a can of “sugar free” cherry pie filling at Walmart that is rather low in calories.  Mix these two ingredients, bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes and you’re done.  Oh, you can add a dollop of whipped cream, which I did this evening.  Delish!!!
